We have been fortunate to have backed many industry-defining companies that have transformed the digital age. From our McAfee investment in 1991 that pioneered the internet business model for distributing anti-virus software to our E-TEK Dynamics investment in 1997 that revolutionized the optical sub-systems industry to light the long-haul fiber optic backbone critical for the internet to flourish.
Starting in 2010, we were inspired by a new crop of exciting start-up companies poised to disrupt the incumbent market leaders. We were fortunate to partner with Stripe, Trade Desk, Databricks, SpaceX, OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, Palantir and Robinhood among others. More than a venture investment, these companies represent a transformational shift in how they serve their customers. We are in awe of their achievements and the vision of their founders.
We are patient capital with no pre-defined timeframe for realizing liquidity because 100% of our invested funds are our own. This is our central life’s work and demands duration and persistence. Our investments tend to be $250k-1M in sectors spanning technology, climate tech and health care.
Through our pre-seed and seed entity, Firestreak Ventures, we invest $50-150k in the developer tooling, infra, open-source, cybersecurity and AI/ML infra.
